Daisen Art Trade, Daisen Japan 2022
In an art Exchange between Temecula and its sister city Daisen, artists traded art to display in each other's respective cities. I received an artwork called ひな祭り , or a "Doll's festival," by 71-year-old Mari Tsunoda. Honoring the call & response of the art of e-tegami, I created two piece of art reflecting objects from my own home, one of which was also a drawing of a handcrafted work of art.
Children's Day Mural in Temecula, CA (2021)
Collaboration with Ly Bucci
Statement: In order to show the connection between the sister cities Temecula and Daisen, we decided to depict the torii in the middle as the symbol which everything pointed toward. We also included mountains to represent Mount Daisen on the side, and scattered the whole image with color and balloons to bring out a feeling of joy and happiness. I hope the happiness and connection is felt in every corner of this mural.
Currently up at the Margarita Recreation Center in Temecula, CA.
